Everybody is chasing something. Depending on what your needs are, you will always be chasing something. Owe unto you, if your joy comes with the chase, because you will never settle. Look at people climbing mountains, wanting to get to go higher and climb more. Look at athletes chasing more medals. They say the competition is against our minds and I wonder if it means we are trying to outdo our bodies. One person will say decenter men, another will say decenter women, all because we are chasing a feeling.
What is life?
The essence of it is the goal or rather, the end game. People tell you to find purpose and you wonder what it is specifically.People who committed suicide are asked why they didn’t try to stay alive. People who did right by societal standards are revenging because life did them dirty. They finished school, found a job, got married, and invested. One day they woke up and had nothing—not even pictures to show. So they break others because we’ll hurt people and hurt others. But no let’s not tell people to heal because it’s cliche. Instead tell men to avoid simping and women to avoid provoking men. In the same breath, let’s have children, and when you break up, use them as bait to hurt the other person. If that’s not enough, don’t be responsible for your seed. Instead say that when they grow up, they will look for me and go about your live peacefully.
Accountability is too much to ask for the bar is so low that we are now settling for senseless people with excuses so lame they can’t be stated. When a person has fought their demons and happy, let’s shame them for their choices. If it’s a man, let’s tell him he will be left again, that dust is constant. If it’s a woman, let’s remind her no one will want them with kids. Oh, and when none of that is enough, we can stick to finding excuses for bad behavior. I mean, if it ain’t broken enough, why fix it?
